The Centre de placement spécialisé du Portage (CPSP) was established in 1975 to provide a range of specialized services to enhance employability for adults who have been in conflict with the law. Our counsellors support and assist clients look for jobs and provide assistance with the process of their reintegration and
application for pardon.
In a bid to provide adequate services to the clientele, our Counsellors adopt an individual approach to boost the probability of success.
This approach centres on the client’s individual needs, availability, expectations and specific capacity. The needs are then used to establish the sequence and intensity of our counsellors’ interventions. Contact us.
The Centre de placement spécialisé du Portage provides employability services to clientele in the following establishments:
- Detention centres
- Correctional Service Canada
- Probation services
- Halfway houses
The partnerships allow clients in these establishments to reintegrate the job market rapidly.
The entire CPSP team is made up of university graduates who have specialized in criminology, education, drug abuse, psychology, social
work as well educational and professional guidance.
The staff also has training in various fields related to the needs of the clientele, among them, work psychology, pro-active therapy, crisis management, impact
therapy and drug abuse. The CPSP is involved at the following levels:
- Advisory Committee on Adult Clientele Subject to Judicial Control
- Réseau des services spécialisés de Main d'oeuvre
- Local Fund for the Benefit of Confined Persons
- Association des Services de Réhabilitation Sociale du Québec
- Conseil régional des partenaires du marché du travail de la région de l’Outaouais
